About me

Tony Ward, PhD, DipClinPsyc, is a clinical psychologist by training and has been working in the clinical and forensic fields since 1993. He completed his PhD on the topic of sexual offending and clinical training at the University of Canterbury. He was formerly Director of the Kia Marama Sexual Offenders' Unit at Rolleston Prison in New Zealand, and has taught both clinical and forensic psychology at Victoria, Deakin, Canterbury, and Melbourne Universities. He is currently Professor of Clinical Psychology at Victoria University of Wellington. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand and won the 2021 Mason Durie Medal for Social Science research awarded by the Royal Society of New Zealand.
